Handle Materials
G10
A tough, lightweight fiberglass laminate that is highly resistant to water, temperature changes, and abuse. It’s extremely durable and low maintenance, but lacks the warmth and character of natural materials.
Micarta
A layered composite (usually linen or canvas) that offers excellent grip, especially when wet, and develops a subtle patina over time. Very tough and practical, though slightly less resistant to moisture than G10 and can feel a bit more “organic” than synthetic.
Carbon Fiber
Very light and incredibly strong, with a clean, modern look and excellent resistance to the elements. It’s more brittle under hard impact and can feel less grippy than other materials, especially when wet.
Bone / Ivory
Traditional materials with a unique, natural look that adds character to each knife. They can shrink, swell, or crack over time and require extra care to keep them stable and looking their best.
Timber
Warm, natural, and full of variation, giving each handle its own personality. Like all natural materials, timber can move with humidity and temperature, so it needs a bit of care and occasional maintenance.
