Kydex Sheaths
Kydex is a modern thermoplastic built for durability and retention. The knife locks in with a positive “click” and stays secure in demanding conditions. It’s highly modular, allowing for a range of carry setups including belt clips, MOLLE, and scout carry.
Kydex is extremely tough and performs well in wet, dirty environments, with minimal maintenance required. Over time, it will mark and scratch the blade. This is a normal part of use, and something users should be comfortable with.
Leather Sheaths
Leather is the traditional option, offering a classic look and a quieter carry. It’s naturally gentler on the blade and becomes more comfortable and form-fitted with use.
It does require a bit more care and isn’t as suited to consistently wet conditions. While generally softer on the blade, leather can still cause scratches if it becomes contaminated with grit or debris.
